Lately… we’ve been eating healthier as family. It hasn’t been easy. There have been pitfalls and failures… but also successes. I’m cooking at home more. This has been a big part of our success. Using a recipe allows me to substitute ingredients or leave some out all together when i can.
The biggest problem for me has been getting out of a cooking rut. I tend to cook the same meals all the time. To remedy this… I’ve started attending a cooking class! Love’n the Kitchen is a North Phoenix cooking class. There are several classes a month… but I’m only attending once a month for now. This month I’ll be learning how to use apples in a 4 course meals!
Apples are one of my favorite snacks. Pair apple slices with a low fat peanut butter… you get a protien packed, sweet treat! In my upcoming class, we’re going to learn how to make Waldorf salad… among other things. I’ve always wanted to learn how to make Waldorf salad! Four tasty courses that incorporate such a great fruit… I can’t wait!
