Girl Power: An Ongoing Discussion

I am fortunate enough to have a boy and a girl. I always dreamed of having both when I thought about what my family would look like. I’m not sure how it is for Moms but there’s definitely something special about daddy’s little girl.

I’m madly in love with little Jakey and the difference I’m talking about doesn’t have to do with love. It’s this feeling I just can’t explain that I have for O. Could it be a feeling of having to protect her more? Possibly. I don’t think I’ve ever really explored it but then again they’re both so young that I’ve only just started to recognize this.

Knowing that the majority of the readers here are Moms I thought I’d share with you a post I wrote a few months back on my blog. I’m sharing this with you because the story that prompted the post really struck me. It also highlights my feelings around parenting and more importantly my “Dad Perspective” on raising my daughter.

I hope you get to know me a little better by reading it and that it resonates with you on some level.

“The minute I start thinking of what my daughter (who’s now 27 months) means to me I literally start to cry. I love her so much it fills my heart, my soul, and my very being with emotion. So when it comes to things in this world that may harm her I take great concern with that.” Read on here: http://www.dadstreet.com/2010/07/girl-power-an-ongoing-discussion/
