Today, September 3rd, Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, Nevada and Southern California are offering ground grass-fed beef at a special price of $3.99/lb!

Grass-fed beef is a much leaner choice than grain-fed beef, and there are a few differences in preparing grass-fed beef. The Whole Foods Market website has delicious recipes for Bahn Mi Grass-Fed Beef Burgers and Apple and Cheddar Grass-Fed Beef Burgers that are sure to make your BBQ memorable.

If you miss the sale today, all Whole Foods Markets will host a special deal for shoppers—20% off burgers Saturday-Monday. From traditional beef to turkey, seafood, veggie, and bison, any burger in the store will be discounted.

Here’s the recipe for Apple Cheddar Grass-Fed Beef Burgers:

Ingredients
3/4 pound 90% lean ground grass-fed beef
1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
2 ounces sharp cheddar, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup shredded peeled Granny Smith apple
Canola oil cooking spray (optional)

Method
Combine beef, onion, cheddar, mustard, salt, pepper and apple in a large bowl and form into four (4-inch) patties. Grill over medium heat or broil, flipping once, until done to your taste, 6 to 8 minutes. Or, spray a large skillet with cooking spray and cook over medium heat, 6 to 8 minutes.
