Thursday’s Cause: Stand For Children

I’ve decided that each Thursday, I will focus on a special cause. Being the President of the Arizona Chapter of Mom It Forward, has allowed me to work with some amazing groups. All of our events are fun, free, social gatherings with a cause. The next several months will no doubt be focused on one particular cause near and dear to my heart.

As most of you know… I’ve been actively working with a non profit organization called Stand For Children. We helped them push for education reform in Arizona by getting the word out on Prop 100, which passed an increased sales tax. We formed an online community within Collective Bias (if you’d like to be invited… let me know!). And we met up to make video responses on our feelings about public education reform.

The mission of Stand for Children reads:

“Stand for Children’s mission is to use the power of grassroots action to help all children get the excellent public education and strong support they need to thrive.”

What I love most about Stand for Children is it truly is a grassroots effort. People from all walks of life and all backgrounds show up to support their community. Supporters don’t even need to be from Arizona, Colorado, Massachusetts, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington. They just need to be passionate about the quality of education our future leaders are receiving in the public education system.

If you would like to get involved in the current video campaign… leave me your information. I’ll contact you with the specific questions we’re looking to have answered. And if video isn’t your thing? Create some text that can be used. Let’s be active. Let’s get involved. Let’s make a change.
