As most of you know… I have preschool age children and I pray everyday that they get their daddy’s smile! Poor little 3yr old Allison… it appears that she will have mommy’s smile. Don’t get me wrong… I smile all the time. I’ve been told that my smile is infectious (in a good way… I hope and not in a bad way like a rash). But all of my life, I have been self conscious of my teeth. The bottom ones especially are so very crooked. The top ones kind of have that endearing snaggle tooth ala Kirsten Dunst.
As some of you have struggled with comments on your weight… “You’d be so much prettier if…”
I have struggled with comments about my smile… “Think about how much prettier you’d be if…”
Although I am constantly aware of my less than perfect smile… I’ve never been afraid of being in the spotlight. In high school I was an all star athlete, student council president, social butterfly. As a young adult, I was a go getter, naturally social, drawn to sales and marketing. I made a career out of talking to people about great products.
Here I am now… MomTV, Vlogs, and conference appearances representing fabulous brands… now is not the time to start feeling self conscious about my smile!
Enter Invisalign. I have the opportunity to erase the past comments made, uncomfortable moments, and bad pictures. Thursday, I will be taking the first step on a new smile journey.
